Top 8 Spots in Cincinnati, OH

When I lived in Paris, many Parisians I met had never been up the Eiffel Tower. That got me thinking. We sometimes don't always explore what's in our own backyard!

So here's my list of the Top 8 cool spots and things to do in Cincinnati.

1.  Over-The-Rhine (OTR)
This district in Cinci is rich in history. Originally named after the German immigrants of mid-19th century who would walk across the bridge over the canal, nicknamed "the Rhine." Hence, "over the Rhine." With recent changes, this area has become much more vibrant and full of corky, unique shops, breweries and parks.
Things to do: Washington Park, Music Hall, lots of restaurants/bars, cute shops

2.  Take an underground stroll of Cinci!
Still in the OTR area, American Legacy Tours offers awesome walking tours, and take you underground to learn about the history and bones of the city. If you're no scaredy-cat, they even offer a haunted tour!

3.  Pedal Wagon in OTR
If you're wanting a fun night out, grab some friends and rent seats on a pedal wagon!
Pedal your way around the neighborhood while stopping at 3 different bars of your choosing. You can book in OTR or go across the river to Covington, KY!

4.  Findlay Market
This colorful, indoor market is filled with fresh finds and lined with cute restaurants and local speciality shops. Stop at Pho Lang Thang for some awesome Vietnamese food then swing by Taste of Belgium's stand to pick up a crêpe or peruse the many desserts and gelato options!

5.  Krohn Conservatory/Eden Park
Eden park offers great views of Kentucky just over the river. Also located within the park is Krohn Conservatory that has a great butterfly exhibit, and filled with lush plants and even a small waterfall!

6.  Mount Adams
This winding road neighborhood offers cute coffee shops and bars all sitting on top of a hill overlooking the city. Lots of curving streets and one-ways, but so worth it!
Insider tip: For a great view, stop by The Pavilion.

7.  Contemporary Arts Center
For a fun twist, head over to the CAC for modern art exhibits that change fairly often to always offer you a new art adventure.

8.  American Sign Museum
This fun museum is the ultimate #ThrowbackThursday! Going back a half century, you'll see the history of signs in America ranging from early printed signs to neon & funky '50s. Definitely a one-of-a-kind experience!

Notre Dame de Covington...ok not really.
Discovered this amazing cathedral in nowhere other than Covington, KY?! What?? It has the facade of Notre Dame in Paris with the inspiring inside design of another Parisian church, St Denis. It is seriously breathtaking. So wander over the river into KY and check it out!

Getting around: There's multiple ways to get around the city!

  • Hop on the tramway
  • Rent a Lime scooter: this is a newer (fun) option, and they're super easy to use! Download the app, scan, and you're ready to go. When you arrive to your destination, take a picture of the scooter, and you're on your way.
  • Rent a bike
  • Bus
  • Uber/Lyft: for longer rides, try these ride share apps

Have you been to any of these or have other places you'd add to the list? Traveling is always an adventure, but don't forget to explore your own backyard too!

bisous,
Lyndi
