"Mastering" a New City

I'm officially enrolled for my masters in Grenoble, France this fall !

I've visited Grenoble a few times and enjoyed the city, but hoping living there will make me appreciate it in a different way. It's one thing to visit a place, but when you live in an area for awhile you really start to notice its personality, find your favorite bakeries, parks & spots, and meet the locals.

I'm also really excited for the new challenges this will bring. When I first mentioned the idea of my masters to a friend, I could sense her uneasiness. She told me she would love to do a masters in France but wasn't I nervous? My answer? Most definitely ! But like Ellen Johnson Sirleaf once said,

"The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough!"

And I fully believe that. Especially after being able to live/travel abroad on my own (and figuring out the ways of the French administration !), I've realized I can accomplish so much more than I thought I ever could !

So yes, this program "scares" me, but it also brings forth challenges and opportunities that make me excited to push myself in new ways.

Though the fact I'm continuing in France might not surprise my family, friends (and readers), I am starting to think and look into some work positions in other countries...I would love to work, live, and discover different countries in Europe as my next chapter ! :)

PS - I probably won't be posting as much (though, I admit, I don't post very often) this summer, but I do have a travel or two planned in a bit before my Grenoble move..!

Thanks for reading and safe travels !

Bisous,
Lyndi
