Christmas in France: Evian & Lyon
December weekend round 2 !
Evian-les-Bains : Dec 10
Only 15 minutes away from Thonon, and I still hadn't checked out Evian yet ! So what better time than for le fabuleux village des Flottins ! This town is adorable ! Bright colored buildings, a beautiful boardwalk, hilly side streets and cute window shops (and casino!)..it's a must. However, it is very small (only one main street) so I would recommend a half-day visit, or to add it to a tour of Europe if you're in the area. They transformed the main square into a mystical village filled with wood/branch sculptures along with vendors and stores open late for the holiday season.
Lyon / La fête des lumières : Dec 10/11
What a fun weekend! I was glad I got to see a friend from university, and she showed me around Lyon:) We had some good laughs, saw different shows (my fav was on the cathedral facade), checked out some book stores, chilled at cafes to get away from the cold, and explored my friend's favorite spots in Lyon:) It was a fantastic weekend and hope to go back another time !
